Provide leadership, vision, and guidance to the Solution Delivery Project Engineering department responsible for executing projects automating the modern day warehouse/distribution center. Projects range from $10M to in excess of $70M and include conveyor systems, rack systems, unit sortation, GTP, AGV/AMR/EMS, ASRS, shuttle systems, robotics, and various other types of warehouse automation. Manage the engineering functions within the Systems team by leading a sizable group of engineers in the analysis, concept generation and pricing, and implementation of material handling systems exceeding $50M for warehouses and distribution centers. The projects include the latest automation technology for material handling such as shuttle systems, ASRS, goods-to-person systems, unit sortation, conveyor systems, and rack systems across a variety of industries and applications.

Manage the engineering activities of a group of senior engineers in the support of sales opportunities, consulting engagements, and project implementations involving material handling systems including platforms, ASRS, conveyor systems, racking systems, sortation systems, and goods-to-person technologies.

Manage the development and evolution of supply chain consultative engagements with particular focus on exceeding customer expectations and managing the relationship. Such engagements typically involve learning the details of our clients' operations, analyzing any data they may have, evaluating the financial justifications of various concepts, developing budgets and project timelines, and presenting findings to company executives. Act as the internal liaison to ensure seamless conversion of consulting engagements to project implementations.

Oversee the effective implementation of large material handling systems in warehouses and distribution centers. Foster a spirit of teamwork within project teams consisting of up to 20 individuals with direct report of a cross-functional group of 3-6 individuals in a weak matrix business structure. Manage the project P/L while maintaining customer goodwill and exceeding customers’ expectations. Prioritize responsibilities among numerous concurrent projects while switching between the roles of project manager, engineer, and consultant. Analyze macro-economic trends and financial data to identify new target accounts for penetration.

The work typically involved estimating, concepting, selecting suppliers, and producing the drawings and bills of materials used for customer acceptance and mechanical installation. Interface directly with the customers' executives, project managers, installation supervisors, controls engineers to ensure the timely flow of data and important documents.
