Retired - worked in vehicle structures as well as powertrain noise and vibration. Particular high lights for me. In the late 1980's i formed and lead a team of researchers in the area of Safety and Crashworthiness. This resulted in developing insights on how to use the fledgling non linear finite element tools as well as creating the algorithms used in deploying airbags. I then moved to becoming the "Noise and Vibration Czar" for the 1998 Cadillac Seville where i led a team dedicated to creating one of the quietest and vibration free cars in the industry. I then moved to the Noise and Vibration lab where i helped create the technology that is now known as infotainment noise management. My final project was to make sure the mid engine corvette had the right content so that it would make the thrilling engine sounds that are now featured in the promotional videos.
