Managed a team of 10 people responsible for creating CMS’ National Provider Identifier (NPI) Crosswalk. The application, developed within the CMS three-zone architecture, processes data from CMS legacy processing systems and the NPI Provider Enumeration system to create the mapping of legacy numbers to the new NPI number. Leadership role was focused on planning and directing tasks required to implement the Crosswalk. Maintained daily contact with the CMS GTL and various CMS OIS staff and served as the interface contact for the various Shared System Maintainers for the FFS claims systems. Led requirements and design sessions with CMS and performed briefings and system overviews for CMS management. Played integral role in developing budgets and schedules for the ViPS team and assisting with the development of CMS Framework artifacts. Managed 10-15 development team members charged with the maintenance and support for the areas of functionality supporting electronic claims submission including editing and validation of the ANSI claim formats, online claims pricing and processing, and provider enrollment. Worked with CMS, the DMERC end users, and other ViPS teams to enhance these systems. During CMS’ conversion to PECOS, had daily contact with the CMS VMS Team Lead and the DMERC users to review provider enrollment issues and set priorities for eliminating the backlog of provider enrollments. In addition to managing numerous quarterly releases, he managed several special projects/development efforts: Claims in Process (CIP), History File expansion, and System Documentation (SysDocs).

2000 - 2003 - Served as Director of Services where he was responsible for the overall profit and loss for the organization and recruitment efforts. Determined resource and staffing level needs, developed company HR policies and oversaw payroll and benefits administration. Was responsible for managing all operations which included six managers and 75 staff members in the Sales, Recruiting, and Technical Management departments. He managed the technical direction and implementation of internal IT and Web development and network integration projects. 1998 - 2000 - Served as Director of Technical Services where he was responsible for managing 4 managers with a staff of 100 in the Technical Management Department. He managed staffing plans and requirements forecasting, created and implemented training and retention strategies, and developed and presented management courses for senior-level consultants. 1997 - 1998 - Served as Sr Technical Manager where he managed the consulting engagements for a team of up to 40 field engineers. His responsibilities included retention and development of staff.
