VEKA, a German family-owned business, is the world’s largest extruder of vinyl lineals for the window and door industry. The VP Finance & CFO serves as a Member of the Board of Directors and is responsible for Finance, Administration, Accounting, Controlling, Legal, Information Technology, and Human Resources for the company. Further, the position plans, directs, and coordinates the company’s accounting/finance department as well as its relationship with stakeholders – shareholders, board of directors, financial institutions, employees, its community, and governmental bodies – and aids the CEO in formulating and administering company policies.

Work with strategic marketing and business leaders to develop strategy and identify potential candidates for M&A, joint venture and alliance.Work with the business and corporate functions to manage the new business development activities to support the company growth and diversification initiatives.Manage the pipeline from ideation (analyzing the space) to attracting the right targets (relationship management) to closing deals with the support from executives and line managers around the world.

• Participate in the Ardex global acquisition team, which pursues acquisition targets globally. • Evaluate and lead in the search and negotiations related to opportunities for acquisitions or expansion into new product or market areas in North, Central and South America. • Identify and manage relationships with acquisition brokers in identified target markets• Manage the negotiations related to any Letters of Intent.• Manage the due diligence process to include identifying and qualifying due diligence resources, scheduling and coordinating work requirements and compiling final reporting. • Work with the German M&A group to coordinate requirements for submittal• Development of business scenario planning models to aid in the strategic decision making processes• Manage the development of business cases to support capital investment proposals and special projects. • Create analytical tools to provide business managers with more accurate and relevant information to make business decisions and to support the Corporation’s strategic planning efforts.• Evaluate opportunities for expansion into new product or market areas. Includes estimated requirements of capital, work force and new standard costs.

This position is an extension of my previous role with many items overlapping to this new assignment. Certain responsibilities have been adjusted to allow more emphasis on the following new and expanded items• Oversee the Corporate Pricing function through optimum pricing of new and existing products, dollarization of performance advantages of Ardex/Henry products, and development of a Pricing Council to review pricing issues• Lead business development in South America, including acquisition, toll manufacturing or greenfield options• Increased participation in overall strategy development and acquisition pursuit in North America• Manage preparation of all tax returns through internal and external resources• Local process lead for finance and controlling (FICO) modules of implementation of SAP global template
