Scott Ribich is currently Director of Technology for the Bluffton-Harrison Metropolitan School District (BHMSD) located in Bluffton, Indiana. Scott was hired as the first Director of Technology when the position was created in January of 2001. BHMSD has seen an exponential growth in technology over the last 13 years especially over the last 4 years. The school district transformed all classrooms beginning in 2010 by replacing all chalkboards and whiteboards with Interactive SmartBoards along with other Smart accessories. In 2011 BHMSD added an enterprise wireless solution district wide using Aruba access points, replaced all servers and core infrastructure, and went from a Novell shop to Windows/Apple shop to prepare for our 1:1. In 2012, BHMSD implemented our 1:1 initiative providing iPads to students in all grade levels. Our district is in the third year of our 1:1 initiative and has hosted 53 Indiana school corporations, 2 Apple Learning Field Trips, and has presented at multiple conferences to assist other Indiana school districts that are working through their own 1:1 implementations.
