Scott Rigden MDDr. Scott Rigden MD has been well-known for many years as a clinician, author, researcher and teacher in the fields of family medicine, bariatrics and functional medicine. He has been collaborating with Dr. Jeff Bland since 1978 and is the author of a recent book that has been released in Europe and India as well as the United States, The Ultimate Metabolism Diet: Eat Right for Your Metabolic Type. He presently is in the private practice of medicine in Chandler, Arizona and frequently is giving lectures and conferences to both professional and lay audiences on the application of an integrative, life-style based approach to chronic medical problems like diabetes, obesity, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia. Board certified in both family medicine and bariatrics, Rigden has received the designation of Fellow, the highest honor of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians; he has also received the Institute of Functional Medicine Outstanding Contribution Award.
