• Worked on the launch of VM’s range of SME deposits, including instant access and fixed rate bond products.• SME Deposit business pricing strategy to drive volumes towards an ambitious market-committed target.• Development and management of commercial assumptions and performance reporting across the SME Deposit range. • Commercial lead for the development of regulatory Financial and Liquidity reporting.

• Extensive liaison with all departments across the business to co-ordinate completion of Due Diligence Questionnaires for MTN and Covered Bond schemes. • Member of the Treasury Investment Group set up to assess and develop the bank’s Credit Portfolio strategy.

• Responsible for assessing and reporting on competitor performance and assessing the market landscape with a view to influencing VM’s medium to long-term strategy.• Development of a data repository containing all competitor balance sheet and P&L metrics, along with key financial ratios. The repository included automated report generation and was widely used across the business. • Led the development of the bank’s Corporate Scorecard, which is used for ExCo and Board Reporting and forms the basis of the Remuneration Committee’s assessment of Corporate and Executive performance. • Responsible for the development and production of the CEO’s Board Report, which was used to present corporate performance to the Board. • Responsible for the development and production of a daily update provided to the CEO and wider ExCo to ensure the Exec team was briefed on the latest banking, economic and political news, including scanning the horizon for upcoming releases. • Worked on the project to build and launch the bank’s own Credit Card business, leading the creation and development of all internal and regulatory Credit Card reporting.

• Responsible, along with the wider Transition team, for developing the strategy to return Northern Rock to the private sector. • Worked on delivering the strategy of splitting the bank into Northern Rock and NRAM, including liaison with external consultants and UK Finance.

• Member of the team working on the Legal and Financial Restructuring of Northern Rock, including the preparation of the Company’s 5-year business plan for submission to the EU as part of the bank’s State Aid application process.

• Responsible for accounting, reporting and budgeting of one marketing unit and a large group of centrally-held cost centres comprising R&D, executive costs and central provisions.• Led the Sarbanes Oxley project for the UK unit, dealing with external auditors and ensuring that key regulatory deadlines were met. • Responsible for forward contract hedging, including review and approval of contract bookings.

• Responsibility for accounting, reporting, budgeting and compliance for two entities with combined revenues of $250m.• Led the project to close the US sales office and transfer all knowledge and business processes to the newly established shared transaction centre in Billingham, including 9 months working in Chicago.

• Joined PwC’s Graduate Scheme in the Newcastle office, working in the Audit Department (1997 – 2000). • Following Chartered Accountant qualification, transferred to the San Francisco office’s Audit department (2001-2004).• Responsible for the planning and execution of audits of medium to large sized companies, including a PwC Global 200 client in the San Francisco Bay Area.
