After graduating from Milwaukee Hamilton HS, I was hired as a Police Aide for the Milwaukee Police Department in 1975. Following that "internship", I was promoted to Police Officer and served the City of Milwaukee for over 22 years before being injured in a vehicle pursuit and being placed on Duty Disability. Prior to being placed on "DDR" I served in uniform patrol, special investigations, Vice investigations, SWAT (both as an operative and as an instructor), Robbery Task Force, and special assignment to the FBI-Milwaukee Division Violent Crimes-Fugitive Task Force. When one door closes another opens and so it was for our family. Our sons were well on their way to establishing their lives in the Milwaukee area and my wife had the opportunity to relocate for her job so we moved to NE Wisconsin. I have always enjoyed working with people - and youth in particular - and found myself becoming certified as a Driver Education Instructor.I had served in the role of Asst. Director of Safety Ministry at St. Paul's Church and consult on House of Worship Safety and Security.I am presently working for the Center For Suicide Awareness in the capacity of Lead Master Resilience Trainer. In that role I facilitate and participate in the resilience training for Law Enforcement, First Responders, Fire Personnel, and Dispatchers.
