I once held a manager position at a fast food restaurant where I was responsible for balancing the numbers at the end of the week on the back of a manilla envelope. It was the best part of a fairly mediocre job. Ever since then I have been interested in accounting. I have sought out opportunities to learn more about accounting, including taking an admin job at an accounting firm and I was even the treasurer for a theater group. After the pandemic I decided to take that interest to the next level and I went back to school. At first I was concerned that the field wouldn't be anything like my expectations, but I was thrilled to discover that I am enjoying learning all the aspects of this wonderfully multi-faceted area. I am finding the experience a wonderful match with my desire to learn, my love of problem-solving, and my joy in achieving goals. Now I am looking for a way to contribute to a company that is contributing to the world in a meaningful way.
