- Manage inventory of packaging needed for daily production; set inventory levels and order materials in accordance with demands and in consideration of lead time to produce; expedite shipments of materials as needed- Offer creative solutions to fulfil unexpected or non-typical customer requests- Coordinate inventory transfers to network partners and co-packing operations; follow up with timely invoicing- Aid in new product development, including but not limited to: proof reading, verifying UPC's, adherence to color specifications, dimensional review, and general construction specifications- Maintain relationships with current vendors based on performance, lead times, quality and pricing- Seek out new vendors for the addition of new product lines or to increase profitability from a cost/performance perspective; explore new product innovations- Explore and implement vendor inventory programs to reduce carrying costs- Maintain electronic records of purchases, pricing, usages/trends, shipments and receipts- Responsible for ensuring receipt of materials as documented on the BOL and entering materials into the inventory system; damaged and/or non-receipt of materials is documented with the carrier and followed up with claims filings and vendor notification - Responsible for approval or disapproval of all invoices related to packaging purchases or other self-initiated purchases- Liaison to multiple internal departments as well as multiple external entities; coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with shipping and receiving; relay critical information involving packaging to production managers and staff; interpret information from machine operators and managers regarding packaging deficiencies as they may relate to production delays
