As a Fleet Replacement Squadron instructor for Airborne Mine Countermeasures Weapons Systems Training School, I was responsible for training aircrewman for the Sikorsky MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter. The school is designed to train Naval Aircrewman and Naval Aviators to fly and perform the duties required to successfully utilize the MH-53E in its Airborne Mine Countermeasures (AMCM) mission and logistical support operations. The syllabus that I taught included aircraft systems, mine countermeasures deployment/employment using a hands-on simulator, as well as practical assessments of the students' performance flying as a AMCM aircrewman.Specific collateral duties included working with the WTI for the MH-53E, and updating the MH-53e NATOPS to ensure the most current information was available to the fleet, which included HM-14, HM-14, and HC-4 (until 2007).

I was promoted to this position after working at KFC for only three months. During my time with KFC, I worked my way up from cook and customer service provider/cashier to Shift Supervisor. This was my first job and first experiences with leadership and management. Leading up to this position, I was a cashier, a cook, and assisted in every position within the store, down to the least desirable jobs, including cleaning the bathrooms and fryers. I learned a very hard work ethic pays off, and there is no job that is beneath me. I think this knowledge is what lead to my success in the military.
