I have retired from regular employment and am enjoying life on the lake.

At HCSC, I have been working within a corporate advanced analytics department leading a team supporting the analytic needs for HCSC's value based care programs such as accountable care organizations.

I lead a team of professionals who create marketing data bases for our direct phone and on-line sales. I lead the Web analytics for our on-line sales site. Our team also supports a team of statisticians who perform advanced analytic work.

During my time in strategic planning, I worked mostly on merger and acquisitions. I performed the valuation modeling of the business operations for potential acquisitions. During this time we successfully acquired a company that allowed us to double the revenues of our business.

Sales was established as a separate business unit at this time and I served as the chief financial officer of this internal organizational business unit.

I served as the financial actuary/appointed actuary for 3 years. I was responsible for a staff that performed all the reserve and risk based capital calculations for the company. I signed the financial statements as the appointed actuary during this period.

I ran the claims processing operations for several years. I introduced a number of cost containment measures that have saved the company tens of millions every year since. The initiatives I started included procedure code bundling detection software; passive network discounts; subrogation unit; and pre-existing condition edits for a new dedicated.

I was interim business unit leader for a employee benefits line that was being phased out. While sales operations had ceased; I was responsible for policyholder administration, claims processing, renewal rating, and customer service for larger employer groups (25-1,000 employees).
