For more than 30 years in the restaurant business, Scott has lived and breathed the philosophy, "good food, good friends, good times". His commitment to great food and a friendly atmosphere is what has made his restaurant community landmarks.In 1988, Scott opened his first restaurant, “Pee Wee’s Sports Bar”, in Etobicoke. Three years later, he opened his second restaurant, The Clarkson Pump & Patio. He serviced the Clarkson area and it became a local favorite as quickly as it became famous for their world-renowned chicken wings (they were the first to “grill” chicken wings, back in the day!). Over the years, Scott undertook major renovations to satisfy customer demand and started catering services for private parties and business events. In 1995, Garth Butcher, a former NHL’er, joined the organization. Garth’s business savvy and passion for the brand aligned with Scott’s vision and their partnership continues to this day. During the same year, they opened The Rathburn Pump (which later sold in 2000 to focus on other strategic efforts.) Realizing a formula for success, Scott expanded his brand presence into Western Canada. In 1998, he opened The Westsyde Pump in Kamloops, BC building on the same principles that made The Clarkson Pump a community hot-spot. In addition to The Westsyde Pump, he opened The Westsyde Liquor Store. After years of success, these businesses were sold in May 2012.In 2003, The Pump House Grille Co. opened, & again becoming a favourite in Port Credit serving up famous “Pump” classics with a sophisticated twist. In March 2011, Papa Giuseppe’s Pizza & Pints opened next door to The Pump House Grille and quickly gained notoriety for their house-made pizzas & pastas. In January 2014, he opened The Erin Mills Pump & Patio.Scott is an active member of the community and his businesses continues to support local charities & kids sports teams. The Pump's Annual Charity Golf Tournament supports local charities continues to sell out every year.
