Returning to the AZTEC environmental planning team as project manager in archaeology and history. Most projects require clearance under the National Environmental Policy Act and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, including archaeological survey and data recovery, historic property surveys, National Register eligibility assessments, and Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) reports.

Co-authored a revised National Historic Landmarks Theme Study for Underground Railroad Resources in the United States.

Independent consultant in historic preservation planning and National Register work, which I had done for more than 20 years, with hiatuses when I served full-time on the staffs of other firms. I have been principal investigator, historian, and architectural historian, providing professional historic preservation services in support of city planning and environmental planning, community history, oral history projects, and development of museum programming and exhibits.

I taught classes in United States History and Southwest History.

Primary author and field director for historic property surveys and National Register nominations and eligibility assessments, contributions to archaeological investigations, and assisted with archaeological surveys and environmental assessments.

Investigated the role of Mexicans in the settlement and economic development of the Arizona Territory. Developed the Mexico/Arizona Biographical Survey, a database of 20,000 Hispanic settlers who arrived in Arizona before 1900.

Directed historical research, developed interpretive content for exhibits and public programs, directed a research-oriented oral history program, developed computer databases and the museum’s Website; provided research support to other city departments, grant writing, policy development, and public relations.

Responsible for all aspects of museum administration, including collections management, historical research, exhibit design and installation, educational programs, grant writing, fundraising, policy development, community and government relations.
