About Scott Stamm

As a highly motivated individual working in the IT field for over 10 years now, I’m always looking to advance my skills and push my bounds whenever the opportunity arises. I’ve had the pleasure of setting up Domain Controllers, a new Active Directory structure, and Group Policies to fit the environment of the Jefferson County Library. Likewise, I was fortunate enough to get some hands on, with creating small database, for a small ticketing system at Clarkson Eyecare. In my most recent IT adventures, I have interacted more often with virtual environments than bare metal. As well, I have also taken on a more administrative role within the US Army at the 1140th in Cape Girardeau, MO.

  • Jefferson County Library
    Pc Technician Tier Ii
Jefferson County Library Jan 2013 - Oct 2013
    High Ridge, Mo, Us
Upon arriving back at the Jefferson County Library the first task I completed was gathering information on what I had in my environment to work with. I decommissioned some older servers, and utilized the full potential of all the new Servers that were just running idly with no task. After creating a plan of action, I upgraded the entire Active Directory system from 2000 to 2008, created a whole new organizational system, along with documentation, and completed the migration of over 150 PC's in less than three days. I slowly pushed out all the new PCs that had been sitting for over a year, and fixed all the older computers throughout the three locations. After all said and done, all of the systems within the Library were in tip top shape, with proper updates being commanded out from a Windows Service Update Server I had setup, instead of having to go out to each machine individually from the old setup.Projects Completed;-New Domain with multiple Domain Controllers.-New Active Directory structure for users and devices, and made Group Policy Objects for them.-Addition of a Windows Service Update Server for continued support of legacy systems.-Creation of a network area storage, and automated backups for critical components.-Complete documentation of the newly created environment.-Consolidation and repurposing of older server hardware.-Deployment of over 40 new devices across three locations.I then provided continued maintenance after the new Domain was put in place. This included modifying Group Policy Objects, collecting and pushing updates from the Windows Service Update Server, and more. I also continued to provide device maintenance and upkeep of documentation and data backups of key operating systems.Operating Systems supported in this role;-Windows - XP/7 and Server 2008-Linux - Debian

  • Jefferson County Library
    Pc Technician
Jefferson County Library Jun 2007 - Dec 2007
    High Ridge, Mo, Us
In my first IT Position at the Jefferson County Library, I had the privileged to work on the following projects;-Cisco phone Call Manager and Unity Server management-IT hardware preventative maintenance-Network and device documentation-Software installations and configurations-Remote, and on-site hardware troubleshooting-Data backups of all key systemsBy the time I had left, I had made data backups of every critical component at the library, as well full documentation of all the devices throughout all the locations. Halfway through my employment in 2007 at the library, our Systems Administrator left thus allowing me new projects to work on with the IT Directors approval. That was when I had the chance to do some fixes to the Cisco phone system, which at the time wasn't very old. I had to remove a few older voicemails, reset some phone codes for users, and modify a few call strings, and change some device numbers and locations. This was the biggest project I had during this visit, and working part time, I had this figured out and documented in 3 days time, without having any prior knowledge.Operating Systems supported in this role;-Windows - XP and Server NT/2000
