Program leader for the local Surfrider chapter water quality testing program, called Blue Water Task Force (BWTF). Program is driven by volunteer citizen science work collecting weekly water samples at 24 local public beaches and parks along the Atlantic and Biscayne Bay coasts. Our program seeks to supplement testing data for fecal bacteria also conducted weekly by the Florida Dept of Health's Florida Healthy Beaches Program. BWTF samples are collected each Thursday, processed in our chapter funded laboratory, and results compiled and distributed each Friday evening to ~ 2000 users via social media, and Mailchimp report. The program has grown from 5 testing sites in March of 2018 to 24 in Oct 2021. I have served on the local Surfrider chapter Executive Committee since 2011, holding positions as Vice Chair (2012-2013) and Chair (2013-2014). Represented Surfrider as member of Biscayne Bay Marine Health Summit Steering Committee member 2018-2021, as part of a broad environmental coalition to improve the health of the Bay.

Lead Forecaster in the Tropical Analysis and Forecast Branch of NHC, specializing in analysis and forecasting for the tropical Atlantic and tropical eastern Pacific oceans. Responsibilities include: Wind, wave, weather forecasts through Day 6 via text, graphical digital data base, and prognostic charts for both basins.Composition of descriptive text analysis of basin wide weather features, such as the Tropical Weather Discussion.Satellite intensity estimation of all current and potential tropical cyclones using the Dvorak Technique.Analysis of 12 ft SWH radii of all warned tropical cyclones in support of NHC marine warnings.Information Decision Support for USCG, or other local and regional marine interests during potential coastal impact of any tropical cyclone.During tropical cyclone operations, provide NHC with Spanish language support for briefings and coordination with WMO RA IV Meteorological Services, as well as U.S. Recon Aircraft clearance with the Mexican Air Force.Contributor of quarterly TAFB submissions of NDBC's Mariners Weather Log.Member of NHC model evaluation team, providing input to NWS HQ on performance of each new global model upgrade.Provide annual training on TAFB products, operations, and wave forecasting to visiting scientists and WMO RA IV classes.NHC representative of Tropical Atlantic Observing System committee 2018-2020NHC - TAFB representative of NWS Wave Team, evaluating current and future NWS marine forecast products, content, and format
