Scott is a co-founder of Kentegra and has been working in Nakuru County, Kenya since 2009. Serving as Kentegra’s Chief Operating Officer, until June 2019, and Chief Financial Officer, until Nov 2022, and now an advisor serving on the board. Scott splits his time between the metro Washington, DC area and Kenya. He is focused on the improving and implementing the field operations strategy with particular attention on supporting our partner farmers. Scott has championed the farmer-empowering Kentegra Commitment: to pay farmers timely, pay fairly and serve with integrity. At the core of Scott’s work is a deep desire to build a successful company while glorifying God. Scott finds his greatest fulfillment as a servant leader, encouraging others to grow and be successful.Scott has served as a volunteer leader at McLean Bible Church for the last two decades, leading overseas mission trips and coaching dozens of trip leaders. In 2008, he led a team to Kenya that resulted in the creation of the non-profit David’s Hope International, which Scott founded and leads. Over the last 11 years, God has provided over $3M to this all-volunteer non-profit to support ministry in Eburru, Kenya. David’s Hope has helped Kenyan leaders build schools, a clinic, and churches in Nakuru County. Engagement with farmers during a David’s Hope mission trip, inspired the creation of Kentegra in 2017.Scott has undergraduate degrees in Math, Economics and Political Science from the University of Washington and an MBA in Finance from Auburn University. He has been married for 20 years to Susan, a partner at a lobbying firm in DC, and they have three children (Shelby 13, Pearson 11, and Anderson 10). He enjoys playing football with his boys, traveling with his family, and fishing on mountain lakes.

Concurrent with his military service, Scott earned a Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University and his Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation. In 2008, he joined AOG Wealth, helping grow the firm’s assets under management to over $200M by 2017 when he sold his partnership interest to help start Kentegra. Scott was a qualified Kingdom Advisor and Crown Counselor, providing investors and church members a Biblical perspective on finance. He specialized in recruiting clients and helping them achieve financial goals with a balanced portfolio and a Kingdom perspective. Scott was nationally recognized by Investment News and the Investing In Others Charitable Foundation as the 2012 recipient of the Global Community Impact Award for his charitable work in Kenya.Investment Advisor, focused on helping clients achieve their financial goals. In 1994, Scott was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force. His distinguished military career was focused on financial management and operations, and he received post-graduate training at the Air Command and Staff College and Air War College. Scott’s effectiveness as leader and in finance was recognized as he received the Air Force Association Officer of the Year Award three times during his career, in 2005, 2009 and 2010. Scott deployed to Bosnia in 1998 and to Qatar/Iraq in 2006. He was competitively selected to serve as a social aide at the White House from 2001 to 2003. From 2006 to 2009, Scott served the Air Force as a Congressional liaison officer, representing the Air Force on Capitol Hill and helping secure funding for Air Force priorities. Scott retired after a 20-year career as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2014.
