Teaching kids to code, using JavaScript, Python, Lua, and C# in Unity.

I was hired onto an emergent project at the Technologies for Aging Gracefully Lab by a PHD candidate instructing one of my courses at UofT. The project mission was originally to create immersive environments as storytelling, in order to share them with seniors in palliative care. In that time we had several successful experiences researched, developed, and presented. It has since grown to a larger sample size of participants in the research, along with collaborations with senior homes in Ontario. The bulk of the development is done in Unity, and on top of assisting in the development of experiences, I have also created models using Blender to integrate in the virtual worlds.

I was a TA (Technical Assistant) for CCT449 – Immersive VR Journalism. This course was part of a joint program between the University of Toronto Mississauga, and Sheridan College.I assisted in the operation of technology, including setting up VR headsets, and computers. I was also directly involved in the assistance of teaching the Unity 3D engine for VR applications to students, and supporting their capstone projects throughout the course. Other tools I helped teach were Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Audacity, and SketchUp.

The Beat Goes On is a record store that sells new and used Vinyl and CDs, along with used Video Games, Consoles and Movies. I handled cash, and purchased goods from the public to be sold in-store.

I was given early access to curate a sample exhibit using the newly acquired Syd Bolton video game collection at the University of Toronto Mississauga. As part of this, I accessed video game hardware, researched, and created several short video exhibits to be used for archiving, and to be used as an example for future student exhibitions of the collection.

In July I was promoted by new management to Assistant Center Director - Sales and Marketing. In this role I made many sales calls, made relationships with parents, market research, dealt with customer service, created social media posts & graphics for advertising, followed up with leads, managed emails, led summer camps, and many other marketing/director tasks. Codified many of these tasks into Microsoft Excel and Word documents. My relationship with the owners and management gave me extra confidence in my social ability, and has grown my social ability in a business environment.

I was the first employee at Code Ninjas Port Credit, and worked for over a year as a teacher and camp leader. I worked through many challenges throughout the pandemic, working both online and in-person. I grew my socialization skills, networked with other students in the coding field, and created a strong relationship with the owners, and children alike. Which led to my promotion to Center Director, and Marketing.

Social Events Director for the University of Toronto Mississauga's Department of Visual Studies Student Society.Created social media posts, managed social events online in the arts, participated in managing the 2020/2021 UTM Film Festival, and led/marketed other events such as a mask designing contest.

My position had me dealing one on one with customers, hosting and briefing parties of people playing laser tag (Mainly children between 4 - 16), hosting and serving private parties and events, cleaning the facility, basic cash duties, basic game maintenance, and redemption. Included many opportunities to demonstrate my communication skills.

I worked with the CCLA (which is a part of the government), and assisted in the creation of a website, along with information to help spread awareness for online safety. I had many opportunities to work in groups with a wide diversity of peers in this position. I also helped create a video game simulation for this project as well.
