Scantrack Healthcare Systems is a world leading provider of track and trace solutions for the decontamination and reprocessing of surgical instruments. Scantrack IMS software was developed to ensure full traceability within the surgical instrument supply chain and has been deployed as part of Scantrack’s traceability solutions in the UK, US and across Europe. Scantrack had revenues of £458k by the stage I joined the business, which had increase to £2.4m by 2007. By implementing a new project management methodology I was able to allow the business to deliver more new business, while better utilising resources and having a clearer understanding of capability vs. demand.Part of the challenge with this role was moving the business from start-up mode to a more structured, process driven organisation. This involved re-alignment of working practices and ensuring that customer expectations were managed within the bounds of contractual terms and SLA’s. Whilst in this role I was also able to negotiating more favourable terms with our 3rd party suppliers and partners. This allowed the business to become more competitive, without having to sacrifice margin, while building stronger relationships with our suppliers. In August 2010 Scantrack was acquired by The Altrax Group.

Between 1996 & 1999 NTL had conducted an aggressive acquisition strategy in the UK cable market under which they had acquired over half of the UK's cable franchises network. Towards the end of 1999 NTL had commissioned a large scale change programme with the objective of implementing a rationalised set of systems and business processes across the merged businesses that would allow NTL to reduce costs due to duplication and offer a consistent customer experience across the county.My role within the programme was to define the integration approach, ensure that all systems delivery teams had clear guidance/requirements and implement a middleware technology that would support the various business processes occurring across system boundaries. As many legacy systems could not be easily extracted from the systems architecture, I defined an approach for harmonising common data across the business by reviewing the data structures within legacy systems and assessing data mastering capabilities within the proposed new systems architecture.I was also responsible for the delivery of the middleware solution. This included supplier evaluation, recommendation & selection, negotiating commercial terms for licensing, support & maintenance, implementation and professional services. During the design and delivery phase of this project my team had grown to a head count of 27 made up of NTL staff, contractors and 3rd party professional services staff.October 2001 marked a key milestone in the programme where the capability that I had delivered allowed for customers to order a bundled product offering across the country, with a consistent service result.NTL was acquired in July 2006 by Virgin Media.

Telstra are Australia's incumbent telecoms provider and after deregulation in the New Zealand market, Telstra entered the New Zealand market. During my time with Telstra New Zealand the business went from having no point of presence or revenue to being the 3rd rated carrier in New Zealand with revenue of $11.8mI was responsible for business system development and delivery for Telstra's New Zealand operation. Scope of systems delivered included CRM, rating/billing, mediation/provisioning and fault management functionality. I was responsible for the systems strategy from market entry system using a mix of MS Access database's & spreadsheets, to full market competition with Telecom New Zealand and Clear Communication in both retail and wholesale.
