The role is diverse and encompasses providing leadership and strategic direction for Australia’s largest sailing club which was formed in 1922. As a premier hospitality organisation the operation includes five dining options, four unique bars, an event business, a fleet of 260 electronic gaming machines, a range of entertainment and a dinghy sailing operation. Apart from driving corporate governance and undertaking the Company Secretarial function, other key aspects include driving financial performance, risk management, market profiling, due diligence considerations and implementing strategies developed in conjunction with the Board of Directors. Project management is a key responsibility with the scope including technology solutions, property development, asset management and more. Over the years I have overseen numerous construction and refurbishments which have been undertaken in a live trading environment including substructure engineering solutions, restaurant refits, gaming room reconfigurations and more recently the transformational $20M Centenary Project . I am also responsible for providing direction, leadership and team building across the business with any employee headcount averaging 200 people. As a leading not for profit, engagement with the community and successful communication strategies are key pillars as is representing the organisation across a diverse group of stakeholders ranging from members to community groups to regulators to politicians and managing conflicting expectations.

Lake Macquarie Liquor Accords is a partnership among licensed venues, community members, local businesses, Lake Macquarie City Council, police and government departments that works together to develop practical solutions to address alcohol-related issues, anti-social behaviour and violence in the local government area. Responsibilities include chairing regular member meetings and various committee meetings, being the touch point for key stakeholders such as Police and Liquor & Gaming NSW as well as providing regular updates to members on various issues. Key achievements include building a cohesive and inclusive member network, introducing a courtesy bus app to address transport gaps and promoting education to local senior school students.

Chairing quarterly regional member meetings and various committee meetings. Providing support and advocacy on behalf of the regions Clubs and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders including charities, regulators and industry associates. Coordinating the regions Clubs to respond to various industry issues or responses to disasters or emergencies.

Appointment to the principal advisory body for the board of ClubsNSW to present and investigate various issues relevant to the industry and our region. Participation in regular meetings, stakeholder events and forums. Responsibility for media representation within the region on Club related matters.

Various committee positions including Treasurer and responsibility for the coordination of various charity events including the Pink Race Day raising funds for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation.

The company operates in an inclusive and transparent way providing networks and pathways to grow and build the economic base which is essential to the success for the city of Lake Macquarie. Apart from the primary Dantia brand LMEDC also drives collaboration and innovation through the Dashworks organisations in Charlestown and Warners Bay. I served a 4 year term as a Non Executive Director of LMEDC and also chaired the Remuneration and Nomination committee. During this time the company transitioned from its start up phase through to an organisation with an influential voice and a seat at the negotiating table
