Here at Abertay University my role is increase the visibility of Abertay's undergrad programmes by making engaging marketing collateral, which demonstrates to prospective students that Abertay is a great place to study and prepares them for their careers. As part of the External & Corporate Relations team I work in the marketing team responsible for driving applications to the university and helping people on their journey to becoming Abertay students. Our team have regularly exceeded projected student numbers, despite some of the major external factors that have impacted higher education in recent times.I have also been responsible for the running of the DARE Academy, an annual computer games competition which sees student create their games which they demonstrate at EGX in London, the UK's largest games expo which cultivates an audience of circa 80,000 people. I engage with local business through sponsorship to increase exposure the competition whilst also helping the teams create meaningful business links with services they may require to use should they be successful.
