About Scott Aaron

I am currently working as the Vice President, Community Outreach and Engagement, at the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago. In my current position I oversee and manage our direct service programs to the Jewish community of Chicago. My professional goal is to assist Jewish educational and communal organizations in developing and implementing programmatic objectives, professional development and experiential education programs that meet their specific needs. I have a particular design and administrative expertise in Jewish professional education, Jewish Emerging Adulthood and Jewish Experiential Education. A large part of my work in recent years has been providing professional development to lay leaders and clergy of congregations and other Jewish organizations. I am a Professional Mentor for students and faculty member in the Masters of Arts in Jewish Professional Studies at Spertus Institute for Jewish Leadership and Learning in Chicago. I also taught both on-line and on-campus courses in education for the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion, the Jewish Theological Seminary's Davidson Education School, and the Education School of Loyola University Chicago as well as numerous non-credit adult programs nationwide. I am also the author of two editions of "Jewish U: A Contemporary Guide for the Jewish College Student" (URJ PRESS) and a number of articles and have co-authored two book chapters on Jewish experiential education and Jewish Emerging Adults. I also co-led the evolution of the IsraelNow 8th grade travel program now in 9 communities across the country and growing.
