ALS claimed the life of my husband - Scott Ferguson. He passed away on 9/16/2023.I’m currently the Supply Chain Manager for Promat Inc. Prior, I was Senior Manager of Logistics and Trade Compliance for Big Ass Fans. Both positions share an interesting commonality - they were new positions in each company and I was the chosen trailblazer.In both companies, I hit the ground running, which is a tremendous advantage over less experienced candidates. I believe my 30+ years of experience and education allows an in-depth understanding of almost every functional business area. I was thinking about and working in supply chain long before it was en vogue.My transformational leadership style evokes integrity, trust, respect, and vision throughout the employees, department, and company. With proper mentoring, the team can identify and offer solutions to problems without fear of ridicule or failure. Believing in, and allowing the team to be part of the solution, not only creates high-performing teams, it greatly boosts morale. To this day, I am extremely proud of my teams at Promat and Big Ass Fans.Companies want results - ROI, OTIF, EBITDA, etc. These goals, some easier to measure than others, are best gained through collaborative partnerships and focused around the value of relationship, service, quality, and cost. And, by leveraging employee talent, I’ve seen cost reductions from intangibles - empowered employees offering solutions and extending vision throughout the company.C-levels want growth and scalability. In 2011, I started Big Ass Fans and it had 130 employees and $30 million in revenue. I left in 2017 with over 1,000 employees, $275 million in revenue, and if you followed the story, the original owner sold the company to PE for $500 million only four months after I left.The growth was fed by fire hose and I scaled logistics operations to meet worldwide distribution efforts, opening new locations in Hong Kong (3PL), Singapore, and Malaysia, worked on a foreign acquisition of their hottest selling residential ceiling fan, direct shipped to 120 countries in the world, and built a solid Trade Compliance program.When I’m not working, I’m likely running a piece of equipment in my workshop, rekindling my relationship with strength and cardio training, tinkering with my autos, trying a new recipe, or hoping to find the next binge-worthy Netflix series.
