I moved to New York in February 2020 and whilst waiting for my Employment Authorisation Document to be granted I began preparing to bring my 31ft sailing yacht, Miranda, across the Atlantic. Building a pan-European banking platform, enabling customers to hold accounts in as many countries as they need. Providing current accounts, debit cards, FX transactions, etc.

Completed a greenfield product to take over career transition and development of our clients. Using AngularJS and MVC to create a high quality, scalable portal with an efficient SQL based data tier. New projects include a large scale management application for integrating the whole online offering. Heavy use of Service Orientated Architecture, with WCF, EF6 and SQL to manage communication between divisions.Responsibilities include product and technical design with wire-framing and high level documentation. UI and UX factor highly into my work, and I'm surprisingly passionate about creating robust but intuitive applications.

FSL are the leading providers of in-house tax liability services for the UK banking sector. The project I was brought in on is a utility for testing asset disposal scenarios across groups of clients and securities. Taking a large role in the design of the solution structure, interface and user experience, I have helped create a robust web application that will service clients for the future, as well as building frameworks for the remaining products in their offering to follow the same path.

Working for a fast-paced technology start up that connects people. As a lead software developer, I developed full-cycle solutions combining a range of web technologies. Front-end, back-end, data, client side, 3rd party API integration and everything in between.In August the busines pivoted and moved into staff management and scheduling solutions. After a successful prototype my web app was expanded and built upon to become the first version which is currently being trialled by large retail and healthcare institutions.
