Why is it so difficult to share our calendars and schedules with each other? I've been trying to find answers for decades, which led me to create a blog about this topic. I wrote weekly features on the impact of technology on healthcare executives, as well as industry news briefs.

I did a variety of writing for HealthTap, but the most public of these were blog posts for doctors that are active or potential users of the HealthTap platform, as well as for HealthTap Web site visitors in general. I successfully used search engine optimization (SEO) tools while writing these posts. I also wrote HealthTap's first analytics-powered case study on how Flex, a Fortune Global 500 company, saves money by allowing its employees access to HealthTap doctors. In 2018, I was one of the copy writers when HealthTap radically simplified its Web site, and I also helped write some of the Care Guides included in the HealthTap app. Using HubSpot, I also helped write a weekly newsletter to engage HealthTap's doctors in the HealthTap community.

My main focus was to improve communications about CalConnect's activities and achievements.

I managed and produced custom content for five editorial properties: HealthLeaders, HCPro, DecisionHealth, PSQH, and ACDIS.

I report on information technology stories and trends for 40,000 healthcare and hospital executives. I also help organize face-to-face roundtable events, knowledge exchanges and the occasional webcast.

Opening Move covered the intersection of open standards and open source in IT and how this creates new opportunities and new challenges. All shows are available in MP3 or AAC audio format, deliverable via RSS.

I helped this trade association discern how to update and redesign its membership database and customer relationship management system.

I delved into the ever-changing twists and turns of Facebook's privacy policies.

I assisted BayBio as they ascertained how to migrate off a legacy nonprofit CRM system into a more versatile system.

I contributed stories to two magazines: NurseWeek and Today in Physical Therapy.

The Golden Group acquired the assets of ISPCON from Penton Media in January 2003. I continued to produce the content of the conference for the two ISPCONs held this year, and continued to produce some MP3 proto-podcasts.

Stardust.com, a Penton Media subsidiary, produced conferences on Internet technology. My position with Stardust evolved from providing online content to producing content for conferences such as iBAND, CDN, and ISPCON. I also wrote a monthly column for Boardwatch Magazine, and co-hosted Stardust TalkRadio, one of the first on-demand downloadable MP3 audio programs (now known as podcasts).

I wrote cover stories and assigned and edited 2 to 3 in-depth features per month. Byte was sold in May 1998 to CMP Media which shuttered the entire print operation for financial reasons. Too bad -- it was a great editorial team.

I was a senior writer and editor at InfoWorld during two booms and an intervening bust. In the very early years I covered education; in later years, I covered database technology and client/server computing. From 1985-1994 I was also the Washington D.C. presence of InfoWorld. I also worked in the InfoWorld Test Center for two years on product and technology comparisons.
