Worked a contract to hire position at GM Financial.

Seeking new opportunity in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, as my prior position was eliminated.

Configured and maintained all groupware related servers and worked with help desk, desktop support, server and network engineering teams. Provided 24x7x365 troubleshooting support for this former Fortune 500 specialty retailer.• Installed, set up and upgraded Microsoft Exchange server, BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Lotus Domino Server, Cisco IronPort Email Security appliance and Trend Micro ScanMail for Exchange/Lotus Notes.• Installed patches and hotfixes when needed and performed major version upgrades.• Worked with 3rd party vendor support from Microsoft, Cisco, RIM, IBM and others when unable to determine problem solutions independently.• Monitored servers for problems using Microsoft System Center Operations Manager.• Created, modified and removed Cisco IronPort Email Security appliance filters and rules and optimized them for noticeable increase in speed of email delivery.• Added, modified and removed mailboxes, contacts and distribution lists using both Exchange System Manager and PowerShell.• Set up and monitored Database Availability Groups and corrected replication and indexing problems.• Moved mailboxes for server replacement, upgrades or disk space adjustments.• Conformed to change control policies using BMC Remedy to log all changes.• Worked help desk tickets escalated to team via BMC Remedy, phone, email or IM and logged actions taken before closing ticket.• Manually checked quarantined emails with known malware carrying attachment types for suspicious headers and scanned for malware before releasing.• Worked with network security to quickly disable BlackBerry and ActiveSync devices when lost or when an employee was terminated.• Performed yearly disaster recovery drill using Microsoft Exchange Dial Tone Recovery and setting up a secondary BlackBerry Enterprise Server and testing and verifying functionality when completed.• Performed archive searches and did occasional troubleshooting on Symantec Enterprise Vault.

Maintained existing Lotus Notes applications, created new Notes applications and shared server maintenance responsibilities with group.• Implemented Lotus Notes SMTP gateway, which allowed Lotus Notes email to flow through Microsoft Exchange environment to and from the Internet.• Coordinated with email team when troubleshooting to resolve mail routing issues.• Installed, configured and monitored Trend Micro ScanMail for Lotus Notes server.• Diagnosed and resolved Lotus Notes client issues on desktops on various versions of Microsoft Windows.

Maintained existing mainframe code and wrote new code as needed. After first 6 months voluntarily switched to creating and modifying Lotus Notes databases and applications.• Programmed new or updated existing COBOL programs on the mainframe.• Submitted new or updated JCL to Production Support for running programs as needed.• Created New Product Information multi-database Lotus Notes application, which allowed corporate and overseas teams to collaborate remotely when deciding what new products to procure or manufacture for each year’s retail inventory. Created other smaller applications as well.• Modified New Product Information application and others as needed.• Met with application users frequently to determine what problems they were encountering and what improvements or additions they needed.
