Scott has been involved in residential construction since 1994 and has an extensive knowledge in new home construction and remodeling as well as commercial finish and renovation. His experience ranges from laborer through framing crew foreman, production manager, and VP of Construction Services. Scott also has 18 years (and counting) of business ownership experience. He owned & operated Lifestyles Custom Homes & Remodeling from 2003 to 2013 selling over one million dollars in projects annually. Additionally, Scott achieved his Certified Lead Carpenter certification in 1999 and his Certified Remodeler certification in 2002 through the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. Scott was the Certified Lead Carpenter class facilitator for Kansas City NARI from 2000 through 2006. Scott sat on the NARI Board of Directors in 2003 and 2004, served as Vice President of Kansas City NARI in 2005, President in 2006, and Chairman of the Board in 2007. Scott also coordinated and managed Kansas City NARI's 2007 Community Service Project "Operation Soldier Assist" in conjunction with the Kansas City Chapter of AUSA. This project consisted of remodeling the home of a disabled Iraq war veteran and involved over $150,000 worth of improvements. Scott was active with the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and participated in the 2012 Leadership Overland Park class. Scott was nominated and selected as a 2013 "Big 50" remodeler by Remodeling Magazine and you can see Scott in the May 2013 edition. Scott was also a contributing writer to the Handyman column in the House & Home section of the Kansas City Star. Scott is a Gulf War veteran and served with the 3/325th Airborne Combat Team from 1991 to 1993. He is married with two wonderful children. Scott lifts at Plunkett Fitness four days a week at 4:30 am, is into off-roading, and a variety of other outdoor activities. Scott also enjoys shooting sports and bow-hunting when he has time to get away. Currently, Scott is a co-owner and President of Black Oak Construction, LLC.
