Staff Electrical / Systems / Software Engineer IotSibi Aug 2022 - Nov 2023Phoenix, Arizona, United StatesLead team to design and implement an HVAC monitoring device (PAVAN) that can monitor an HVAC unit and determine if there are any issues with the unit via the blower, compressor, and even if the user is changing the filter or not. PAVAN was battery powered with LTE connection to the backend and displayed to the user via test dashboards and user frontends in web and mobile. PAVAN would last under battery power for 2 years and take readings of 2 pressure sensors, 2 temperature sensors, and 1 ambient temperature humidity pressure sensor every minute. PAVAN would store the data and transmit on a user selectable scale that defaulted to every 12 hours. PAVAN could enter live mode where readings were taken every second and displayed to the user via a graph. PAVAN would also collect data on where it was via cell tower locations as well as record the signal strength of each band and tower it could see and transmit that data to the backend. PAVAN could update its firmware, the LTE modems firmware and its settings Over the Air (OTA). PAVAN had a fully working prototype in hardware and firmware, as well as backend and frontend developed however the cost of manufacturing and economy forced SIBI to put the project on hold until a later date. • Developed the hardware and PCB for the PAVAN project using Altium, KiCAD, LTSpice. • Developed the backend using AWS IOT (MQTT), Lambda’s, Postgres, RedShift, S3, CLI to intake the data from the device over LTE. • Developed the prototype frontend using Flask, Plotly, Dash to display live and historic graphs of the data. • Worked with Vendors and Manufacturers to get custom Sensors that were cost efficient, and manufacture and assemble the device for ~$100.• Documented the device and the full working of the system as well as working with the team to make sure tasks were done efficiently and cost-effective while being production ready. • Communicated all status efficiently as well as all costs and future cost projections. -
Senior Software & Systems Engineer Lead In Shipping & LogisticsHumana Jan 2016 - Jul 2022Phoenix, ArizonaSystems Engineering Lead in charge of design & implementation of additions & enhancements to Humana's full rate production mail order pharmacy. The Pharmacy currently produces 100,000 orders a day. Current Main Concern in Shipping and Logistics Process from beginning to end. I also own and code all of the code in C++ and C# that runs all of our logic and prints all of our labels. In charge of documentation and maintenance of the automation process.• Working with only myself as technical stakeholder and 1 other as business side stakeholder I implemented a unification project to make all 6 lines working on the same technology core and standards, using C#, C++, MS SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Symmetric DS, PowerShell, Python, and more• This Project took about a year and resulted in being able to maintain and change the system much faster and adjust to changes quickly• After implementing the unification project, I implemented many cost saving measures, some of which are as follows: USPS - PMOD Expansion - Technical Sorting of the packages from 250 sort points to 500 sort points based on moving average volume. - 4.5 million a year in shipping costs.USPS - Parcel Select Upgrade - Add in Parcel Select (PS) for over a pound packages to use the Priority Mail Open & Deliver (PMOD) system instead of Priority Mail (PM) or First Class (FC) - 2 million a year in shipping costs.• Designed and implemented 2 high speed package sorting machines using advance robotics, PLC, and microcontrollers which allowed us to sort 9000 packages per hour without user intervention. • The sortation robotics cost approximately 1.5 million dollars each with parts and labor and save approximately 4 million per year each. -
