Directs the daily activities of a single team of WebSphere Message Broker (WMB) and Java developers. Participates in the hiring process, annual reviews and Individual Development Plans of staff. This position is expected to establish day to day performance expectations and manage their team to that, identifying both performance problems and exceptional performance. The Lead will work with their manager to deal appropriately with problems and positive reinforcement. The Lead is expected to identify problems and opportunities for improvement within their areas of responsibility. The Lead will often be expected to execute a solution where appropriate and escalate when necessary.

Responsibilities includes managing team on the development, environment, testing and production support teams. This includes working in a web-hosted environment dealing with third party software such as iPlanet, webLogic, WAS, and SiteMinder. The applications are Java based application hosted in a web environment over multiple servers in different geographical locations. Responsibilities also include forecasting headcount on projects and forecasting a budget for expenses and tracking to that budget. Duties also included outsourcing applications to IBM.

The application is a Java based application hosted in a web environment over multiple servers in different geographical locations.

Responsibilities included managing team of over fifty team members working on a range of projects from client server applications for ION-E911, client server application for wholesale customer, to mainframe application for Sales and Marketing which included LEC and Tele-Marketing and Local Resale customers. Responsible for the Y2K efforts for SMS in both the Dallas and Kansas City applications which included harvesting, renovating and certifying over 4 million lines of code.

PROJECT TEAM LEAD-Managing team members on the development of projects throughout the development life cycle. This included creating project plans, providing LOEs, conducting weekly staff meetings, and providing status updates to management, mentoring new programmers, and trouble-shooting. Duties also included active participation in the college recruiting efforts. LEAD ANALYST-Worked in several test departments as a Lead Analyst. Responsibilities included testing software applications before they were implemented to production and leading teams to ensure the testing requirements were met within the allocated timeframes. Tested several of Sprint's core applications. PROGRAMMER ANAYST/BUSINESS SYSTEM TESTING-Testing the software before it was placed into production and frequent coordination with the development programmers. This included working with JCL, NATURAL, SAS, CLIST and DB2 in addition to being in charge of CIS security and database maintenance.

Started as a Data Coordinator, moved to Computer Operations where I worked in the computer room. During that time period self taught myself JCL by working with Operations Analyst during down time.
