Application System Analyst
Pullman/Spokane/Tri-Cities/Vancouver/Everett/Global, Washington, Us
In my role, I performed systems analysis, design, construction, testing, documentation, and deployment for both new applications and enhancements to existing ones. Collaborating with the Graduate School staff, I determined business needs, assessed alternate solutions, and decided on the project's implementation scope and schedule. This included task determination, dependency analysis, and creation of project timelines. I also worked closely with Graduate School leadership to discuss potential projects, assess priorities, and, when required, re-prioritized based on the current project roadmap.I developed queries, WorkCenters, Activity Guides, and 3Cs within MyWSU (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions), and was responsible for the planning, testing, and implementation of the Graduate Advising Module and Graduate Management Module in MyWSU. A significant part of my duties involved budgeting and justifying IT costs for the Graduate School, planning for capital purchases, and managing annual software licensing costs. Representing the Graduate School as the Area Technology Officer, I was an active interface with the broader WSU IT community and senior Central ITS Staff, ensuring monthly touchpoints. I also crafted ad hoc PeopleSoft queries for various academic and graduate coordinators throughout the WSU system, managed the Graduate School's SharePoint site, maintained CollegeNET systems, and assessed new modules/products for MyWSU. Furthermore, I continually evaluated and recommended improvements to the Graduate School's technology-centric business processes and implemented those approved.
