Working at a Title I school is difficult but rewarding. As a Language Arts teacher, I was able to help raise the reading scores of over a hundred students, introduce them to new opportunities for their futures, expose them to new technology and literature, and motivate them to do their best in and out of the classroom. As a new teacher, I decided to jump.

I taught SC Language and Writing standards to 8th grade students and worked with the wonderful faculty and staff at Belton Middle School. I also coached soccer at BHP high school during my two years in Belton.

Fresh out of college, I wanted to make a difference, and John Knox PC gave me the opportunity as the Director of Youth and Young Adults. I was able to jump in and help revive a youth group, lead a building project for a new youth center, and rally volunteers to support the program. I loved my time with students at John Knox PC so much, I decided to go back.

In college I volunteered with youth at Grace. I helped disciple a group of high school boys. This experience turned into an internship then a staff residency, which allowed me the opportunity to help start a new church campus. My time at Grace included priceless experiences like leadership training from executives, CEOs, and financial advisers; mission.
