Led the finance team at SWT through a period of improvement, completing outstanding financial statement audits for 5 prior years, the first bond issuance since 2001 for SWT, and grew positive fund balance with no real estate tax increases.

As a staff accountant, my work is focused in the audit sector, primarily in the government, non-profit, and healthcare industries. I have had some experience on other clients, such as banking and employee benefit plans. While working in a team environment, I enjoy the challenge of optimizing my time while balancing various tasks required to complete an audit. I've worked on a variety of analysis sections for each of my clients, as I continue to solidify my understanding of the audit process. My enjoyment of the work comes from providing clients with excellent customer focus while performing high quality audits.

As a Baker Tilly intern, I was given the skills and resources necessary to develop my talents as an external auditor through high quality training events, various audit engagements, and everyday experiences in the time at an office for a top 15 accounting firm.

During my time with McKonly & Asbury, I developed an understanding of how a small public accounting firm (less than 100 employees) works through working with their audit practice during the busy season and shortly after. I gained exposure to different industry practices which included audits, comps, and reviews for manufacturing, healthcare, housing, insurance, and other clients. As an intern, I learned much of the audit process through housing audits, where it was my task to complete the audits, performing planning, testing accounts, and preparing the financial statements. On some larger clients, I focused in on cash, AR, AP, fixed assets, and investments. The staff and partners at the firm treated me as a first year staff, and with that came an incredible learning experience.
