As a Professional Learning Specialist (PLS) at NCCE I specialize in training on Blended Learning, Leadership, Curriculum Design, and all Microsoft tools, especially Teams, OneNote, Learning Tools and general use of Microsoft 365. At our annual company retreat and conference, I have been a frequent presenter and contributor to help current and new PLS's both stay on top of current standards and practices in education and educational technology, while also sharing vision and plan for how to innovate to prepare for the future of education. I have been assigned to several key accounts to help bridge gaps and get both sides on the same page including work with PowerSchool, the NYC Department of Education, Johns Hopkins University, Wake Community College, Arlington ISD (Texas), and Gallup-McKinley School District (New Mexico).

Becoming an active member of these two global PLN's has no doubt changed me for the better and made a greater impact on my teaching and beliefs than any PD or course I have ever taken. I am consistently inspired by the MIEExpert's passion for education and their desire to impact the lives' of their students through positive changes in learning and teaching practices. I am so appreciative of the many friends and connections I've made in those groups, and I continue to grow and sharpen my skills with every conversation we have, no matter how large the group.I am an active leader and member in both communities, including a role as a regional MIEE Fellow for the last 5 years, where I support educators in CA, AZ, NM and HI, in sharing their knowledge and experience with the entire community, while also forging new connections and relationships with those MIEEs who are new to the community. I have hosted several calls with the community and am an active participant in all monthly calls throughout the year. I also regularly present at conferences, remain active on monthly Teams Calls as well as share/interact on social media/email. In recent years, I have presented over 20 sessions at conferences including: ISTE, TCEA, CUE & OCCUE and have also been asked to present in the Microsoft Booth at those conferences on specific Microsoft tools, integration and classroom best practices.In this role, I have coordinated with Microsoft Reps, locally and nationally, to share school transformational journeys. I taught Algebra 2, Algebra 2 Honors, Pre-Calculus Honors and AP Calculus AB in my nearly 6 years at Junipero Serra High School. In my three years at the Calculus level, we raised our AP Test Pass Rate from about 18% to almost 70%, an accomplishment I am very proud of for the work I and my Students put in. As the Summer Camp Director, I inherited a program that had seen a significant decline in enrollment. Within a year we had the enrollment back to its capacity and kept it at or above 95% capacity for the three summers I was the Director. During that time I managed an approximately $150,000 budget and coordinate payroll, ordered food and equipment for the summer, led training sessions and oversaw all aspects of the day-to-day camp operations.

I was hired to take over both the Newspaper and Yearbook programs, which had seen a sharp decline in their enrollment over a 2-3 year span. Within two years, we had the Yearbook staff up to 40 Students (a 200% increase) and our Newspaper staff grew to 25 (double the previous staff size).
