My goal is to used my expertise in teaching English to internationals in a way that would most benefit refugees, immigrants, transferred workers and international students. I have a wide network within the TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) field in and have been active in professional organizations such as JALT (Japan Association of Language Teaching) and TESOL. April 2008 my wife Taeko & I founded International Friendship Association NPO with a weekly Friday International Gathering as our main activity [See: http://sites.google.com/site/Friday4Friends - esp. article & map downloads at the bottom ], We co-led a Japanese Connection fellowship and now actively participate in a bimonthly Japanese Fellowship. Taeko leads a Japanese women's prayer meeting, and I am teaching ESL to internationals at HACC-Lancaster Community College. We'd happily receive invitations to churches or ministries to inspire sharing God's love & friendship to internationals here.Taught EFL for 12 years in Yokohama/Tokyo, Japan and one school year in Xián, China. I taught at Waseda and Sophia University (~ 3 years each) among other assignments.Have taught ESL in USA for about 7 years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and here in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.Obtained an M.A. in English (Plan D: Linguistics/TESOL) -- from the University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee, 8/1991.Obtained an M.E. (Master of Engineering) and B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from Carnegie Mellon University. Worked 3 years as an Engineer at Ladish Co., Inc in Cudahy, Wisconsin, USA.
