I stayed at an Unplugged Cabin to switch off after my final summer with Good Times Roll. Beyond delighted and impressed not only with the experience but how clear-minded and calm I felt after my stay, I reached out to Hector and Ben to offer my feedback and wish them the best of luck.We met up a while later for a coffee, and chatted about the notion of a B2B Proposition, offering Unplugged stays as an employee wellbeing benefit (a brilliant idea). A few weeks later, I joined the team to build out the initial strategy for this programme.Key Contributions:- Strategic Development: Spearheaded the strategic development of this B2B model, outlining a framework that highlighted not only the mental health and productivity benefits of digital detox retreats, but also the creativity benefits. This initiative aimed to integrate Unplugged's offerings into corporate wellness programs, setting the stage for a new avenue of growth.- Collaborative Leadership: Worked closely with the founding team to align the B2B proposition with Unplugged’s core mission of promoting genuine offline experiences. Facilitated cross-functional collaboration to refine the product offering, ensuring it met the high standards of both the company and potential corporate clients.- Market Analysis and Outreach: Conducted thorough market research to identify target industries and potential clients who would benefit from Unplugged’s unique proposition. Initiated outreach efforts to establish connections and pilot partnerships, demonstrating the tangible benefits of the program.I enjoyed a fantastic few months with the team, and wish them all the best. I'm confident Unplugged will continue to lead and expand on this much-needed market. For anyone in even a slight need of a digital detox, I couldn't recommend booking a stay with them more.

Aiming to create the world's best ice cream experiences.After bootstrapping to a team of 33 across two locations in our first year, we created the since-viral "Jägerbomb Ice Cream" marketing campaign to carve out a niche in freshly-made alcoholic ice cream.The video gained 10M views and 15k shares, leading to a waiting list of global franchise enquiries.To prove a franchisable year-round concept, we expanded across London and into New York - in hindsight a little too enthusiastically, as these new store openings coincided perfectly with Spring 2020.To raise capital for the business to survive through the pandemic, I studied to temporarily become a quizzer, and won enough on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire to keep the business alive.Ultimately, whilst Harry and I were proud of the exciting brand we'd created - we decided to close the business following our final summer in 2022."Here at Good Times Roll, we love to bring people together, to have fun and make seriously good summer memories. The collective goal of the team was to develop Beach Soccer in the UK, and to eventually provide the opportunity for anyone to play this fantastic sport throughout the country.We worked closely on the development of our players, and then created the opportunity for them to play the sport at a high level, through both the Sandy Soccer Beach Soccer Club and also through the large-scale tournaments that we offered.Through our development programmes and events, we were able to introduce the sport to over 1000 people within three years, and establish a beach soccer team that competed at the highest national level in the UK, which included one local player who went on to play for England.This work provided me with an early (aged 18) opportunity to tackle a wide variety of roles, from strategy development and brand management to coaching and event coordination. Most importantly, I was able to work as part of a team of exceptional individuals, all of whom shared my passion and vision for the sport in the UK.
