Extensive experience testing complex embedded systems. As test lead for multiple SEL projects and products I have been responsible for managing testing/QA activities and leading teams of testers. I love working with agile development teams across engineering disciplines to deliver the best product possible.

I have been fortunate to be part of some high achieving agile firmware development teams. As an integral member of these teams I have been involved in all phases of development including design, implementation and testing. I have also been the designated expert on Continuous Integration: leveraging test automation, Bamboo and Bitbucket to provide early.

My responsibilities centered around writing and executing formal functional tests. SEL products are used in critical infrastructure/power distribution applications so device failure is not an option. To that end I also automated DDOS performance tests, network protocol tests and performed IEC 61850 compliance testing of all SEL protective relays.

My military technical training in electronics made me feel at home disassembling, repairing and reassembling SEL products. The bulk of my time, however, was spent creating software utilities to assist the repair department with repetitive tasks. With my help, we created a software system that could track (and report) the status of an RMA throughout its.
