Scott has worked in commercial mesh generation algorithm development and software development since the late 1980s. While he has worked in several managerial roles, has advised graduate students in their research, and has assisted in recruiting, hiring and training new software developers, his real love is in the development of new, commercially viable software capabilities used to solve real-world engineering problems. Software from Scott's meshing team is used in Star-ccm+, NX, Simcenter 3D, FEMAP and Solid Edge.For many years, Scott has been responsible for advertising and recruiting for Mesh Generation positions in Siemens.In addition, Scott is the chair of the SIAM International Meshing Roundtable Steering Committee and has been involved with the IMR since it started in 1992.
