My duties as equipment specialist revolve mainly around keeping track of inventory and locker rentals for gym members. I conduct a monthly inventory count of all the inventory that we sell at our pro shop for our members. I monitor the inventory of equipment rental daily, as well as updating the software system we use to make sure all inventory is accounted for in the system, as sometimes the system glitches and loses track of the equipment. I contact members who rent out lockers about when their expiration date is approaching so they can go about renewing the locker or removing their belongings from it. Being a specialist, I also assist in training new employees as well as giving workshops for current employees to help them improve their job performance.

Manage memberships at the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center. I process point of sale transactions, where I enhance my cash management skills. I often am called upon to demonstrate and build my conflict management skills, seeing that I am on the "front line" of the facility.

At Campus Recreation, a group of student employees forms Team Select that assists with the professional staff with the hiring process. Team Select is a complete volunteer function that assists the professional staff in conducting the first round interviews. As Team Select Manager, I volunteer my time to find co-workers that would like to volunteer for Team Select, train those who are willing, instruct an information session for prospective employees, organize call backs and an interview schedule, as well as over see and help with the first round interview process. I am also in charge of hosting the new hire orientation, which is essentially another information session for those who passed all the rounds of interviews.

I promote the college of business for the university. I assist with events like Open Houses and Accepted Student Days by serving as an experienced student resource.

I complete individual tax returns for our clients. When we were not busy with tax season, I maintained accounting books for some of our clients; inputting their bank account records into our accounting software, Sage 50. Working at a small firm has provided me with great experience in doing a little bit of everything and further emphasize the importance of communication and teamwork within the work place.
