I am a 3rd year Media Production student at York St. John University. My time there, however, is drawing to a close. While I have achieved great things as a sales assistant at Schuh and will continue to do so, my goal is to become a professional writer/director. Throughout my higher education and undergraduate degree, I have tried my best to give myself as many chances as possible to find the route that suits me most. Writing and directing have been the ones I always fall back on. I am a natural born leader, wanting to make sure everything is achieved to the highest of standards. This could be in general work, as well as when completing projects for my degree. I have an extremely active mind and I am constantly working on my next big project. I thrive when allowed the space to express my ideas and I always want to see my ideas come to life.A notable instance where my creativity has been able to come to life was during my time in sixth form. My peers and I entered a contest for Iris Prize’s Education Outreach Project. This allowed schools over North Wales to create their own short films and place them against each other. I was concept developer for this project as well as being appointed director by my peers. After presented to a panel, our short film was chosen to win their contest. It was amazing to get hands on experience working on a production and it was extremely satisfying to see our hard being appreciated.During my time as a sales assistant at Schuh, my confidence and grown exponentially. It has really helped me develop my people skills as well as working to a constant high standard. It is extremely rewarding to see feedback from customers stating how helpful I have been, as well as getting acknowledgments from staff on how I have progressed as an employee.
