Founder and CTO of Sportsense Technologies Inc., a technology start-up focused on building innovative solutions to measure and improve human performance.Researched, developed and "productized" motion-understanding algorithms for the Swimsense watch. Also responsible for hardware and firmware build. A novel product in many ways, Swimsense launched in December 2010 and is currently available in 60+ countries.

Partnered with P&C business units to develop and evaluate innovative business models centered around new technologies. Technologies included human movement sensing, vehicle and asset telemetry and text / audio data mining.Led teams composed of business line experts, IT, finance and legal to investigate opportunities. Filed several patents, partnered with industry and academic researchers (e.g. IBM, MIT, Yale, HP).

Worked as an independent consultant to Fortune 500 companies building large-scale web-based software solutions. Clients included United Health Group, MassMutual, Commerce Insurance.Led teams, mentored developers and architects, held responsibility for mission critical applications for billing, insurance quoting and e-commerce.

Developer for a Boston / UK-based business-process automation startup. Designed and developed a web version of their custom desktop software.

Sixth employee at Bentana, an original ".com" startup. Developed the first web-based employee and employer benefits portal. Work included design, implementation, mentoring, customer interaction and concept development. Bentana was acquired in 12/1999.

Worked in CE's Power Plant Labs to build a novel multi-media educational package for field engineers working in fossil power plants. System included authoring tools, a multimedia presentation engine for video, audio and animation, and a testing/certification component.
