Cogun, Inc. was a North Lima, Ohio-based full-service church facility construction and campus relocation firm.◼️ Redefined the company’s culture through establishing and casting a unifying organizational vision.◼️ Established a new approach to developing and implementing strategic plans that positively impacted employee engagement and position the company to meet and exceed financial and market position goals.◼️ Prioritized and modeled transparent, clear and consistent organizational communication which heightened team commitment and increased productivity.◼️ As part of an “all-in” leadership mindset, took the reins of Sales Operations on top of COO responsibilities ensuring the company’s survival through a 63% downturn in the company’s specialized market.

Continuously looked for leading-edge cost-effective tools and methodologies that increased efficiency, streamlined productivity, and enhanced profitability while maintaining the organization’s reputation for service excellence. Scope of responsibilities were widely diverse and encompassed internal operations as well as construction administration including contractor credentialing, worksite health & safety, risk & insurance, and bonding.◼️ Guided the successful implementation of technology upgrades and enhancements which removed communication roadblocks and decreased operational overhead by $130K per year.◼️ Led a cross-functional team in the development and implementation of an A/R and cashflow monitoring process that increased receipt consistency and reduced payment cycles. The initiative inverted a negative cash position to a $4M surplus in 15 months. ◼️ Developed reporting and monitoring tools for critical financial KPI’s including cashflow indicators that allowed for faster C-suite input, strategy adjustment and risk mitigation.◼️ Successfully headed all legal and risk mitigation matters including representing the organization in occasions of mediation or arbitration.◼️ Committed to and maintained a consistent, inclusive safety-based culture to ensure the well-being of team members, third party contractors, and visitors to all construction sites.
