As a Marking Assistant at the University of Victoria, I was responsible for invigilating 3rd-year business exams and marking Management Accounting midterms. Due to my background in accounting, I was able to seamlessly step into this role and fairly assess student performance. Although brief, this opportunity was a great test of rationalizing and explaining the logic behind my decisions while collaborating with professors.

The Utility Regulation Section of the Water Management Branch within the BC Provincial Government assists private utilities within the Province with their accounting and reporting while ensuring compliance. At this position, I was responsible for forensic accounting duties, making evidence-based recommendations, drafting orders and staff reports and assisting private utility owners on accounting best practices. At the URS, I stepped into a role focussed around accounting and corporate research, but was also able to take initiative and develop data management systems that increased information flow using Excel and Access.
