Originally a part of the waterfront and swimming staff at Camp Baco, and later promoted to the head of the swimming department. Regular duties included lifeguarding young people swimming, as well as teaching swimming techniques and helping in other waterfront departments such as sailing and water-skiing. As the head of the swimming department, these duties came to include leadership of a four-person team, and further supervising and managing the teams of adjacent departments consisting of another ten people. Ensuring the safety of those partaking was of paramount importance, especially given the presence of many young and inexperienced swimmers in a natural environment. Additionally, this included adhering to the policies of the camp and understanding this in the context of a lake. My duties beyond the lake included supervising and helping campers aged 6-17. As a junior division counsellor, I was directly supervising between 5-10 campers with various personal and medical needs. In this position, I gained a much greater understanding of working with young people and exponentially improved my ability to communicate and manage individuals and teams.

I have worked at Bushells' Farm Shop as a customer-facing sales assistant, dedicated to providing consistent and quality products and service to the local community. In doing so I helped foster relationships with customers, helping to manage inventory in line with business guidelines and safety regulations. As a result, I was also responsible for operating the cash register and managing customer orders over the phone.This role helped sharpen several skills, such as effective and clear communication as seen with building a rapport with customers and a diverse clientele. I also developed my ability to work under pressure further and multitask as I needed to attend to multiple customers. To this end, I furthered my time management skills to achieve a number of objectives promptly, and without compromising the quality in other areas. Additionally, working in a local business with several colleagues enhanced my teamwork and collaboration, allowing the shop to deliver on the business priorities whilst maintaining a good working relationship with staff and customers.
