The Quinn Driscoll Foundation is a Vancouver Washington based 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to the the education, testing/screening of young people for issues surrounding Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and the distribution of funds for the purchase of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) within the greater Vancouver Washington, Portland Oregon area.The Quinn Driscoll Foundation name sake, Quinn Driscoll, died from Sudden Cardiac Arrest in June of 2009. Quinn died while running track during gym class, 18 days before his 14th birthday. Quinn's death was caused by Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), a disease which the muscle of the heart is abnormal in the absence of an apparent cause. HCM is the leading cause of death in young athletes annually in the United States.
