I’m a business guy with a lot of mechanical aptitude, a ton of energy and curiosity, and a passion for taking on challenging projects. I was drawn to the procurement/operations/supply chain profession early on – as a teen I scoured through scrap and lumber yards and the classified ads buying and bargaining for materials and parts for various elaborate projects, all of which required me to employ design, planning, buying, building, team recruitment/management, and other skills to bring all the pieces together. I discovered a talent and love for managing numerous disparate activities that result in delivering cool solutions and kept right on doing it for my career.One of the really great things about my field is that there are so many ways to improve, drive out waste/cost, deliver better and faster, and create value that it never gets boring - you are always learning and you never run out of ways to help your business succeed. Add in an inquiring mind and a drive to win, and I couldn’t have found a better career path.I’ve been very fortunate to work in both the defense and commercial environments with a lot of business experience domestically and globally. Working on factory floors in China, brainstorming with a design team, thrashing through a schedule with impossible deadlines, or helping Sales win deals by cutting COGS and lead times – all have been great experiences and have allowed me endless opportunities to learn and grow and make a positive, tangible difference.When I’m not building or transforming a global supply chain or managing a major program, I’m a dedicated dad/grandad, semi-fanatical road bike rider, hot rod builder, and always involved in complex home projects. Really good at: Startups; continuous improvement; fast and effective product launches; freeing up serious cash; setting the bar and the pace high; calm, relentless, and organized execution despite chaos; winning; getting the most out of life.
