Facilitator, Suicide PreventionThe Jordan Legacy Cic Feb 2020 - PresentHarrogate, England, United KingdomI’ve known Steve Philip professionally for a while and always held him in very high regard, often commenting on his creative and informative LinkedIn posts but one post in January of 2020 was very different, it was an announcement from Steve that his son, Jordan, had taken his own life on December 4th 2019.We met at Hotel du Vin on 10th February. That day, I knew I needed to be a part of what has become The Jordan Legacy, a Community Interest Company (CIC) founded with a vison and mission; to create a ‘zero suicide community’. I’ve joined Steve’s team at The Jordan Legacy because we share values, philosophies and goals in wanting to design and deliver optimal mental health and zero suicide. Reflecting on what Steve told me about Jordan’s life and what took him to that tragic moment in 2019, I thought about my own kids, especially my son, he’s 9 at the time of writing this, and has Sensory Processing Disorder, which often causes him to feel anxious and stressed. My fear is that if we don’t create an environment for our young and vulnerable community, more will end up at that same moment poor Jordan found himself. So, I’m successful in business, I’m co-Director in a marketing company, a tech company and a data company. Therefore, I knew I could bring some core skills to the table and help Steve deliver against this huge challenge our community faces.Our ‘Zero Suicide Community’ strategy has 5 Layers1.
