I'm a versatile IT Professional. Over the past 28 years I've held roles as a Project Manager, a Quality Engineer, and a Software Engineer. I have a particular interest in process and have extensive experience with Waterfall development, Agile development, and hybrid/transitional development models.Project ManagementI've held Project Management positions at two different levels. The first was as the Project Manager of a software product operating on a large-scale distributed network. I had direct responsibility for PC software running on two different custom hardware platforms, and firmware running on 10 different proprietary embedded systems. In this role I managed a pair of development teams - one local and the second in Bangalore India. I spent 8 years in this role and supervised the successful launches of 10-12 major releases of the product. My second Project Management role lasted four years and was focused on all products for Honeywell Life Safety. I was responsible for ensuring the readiness for release of all products from the Quality perspective. This included direct oversight of the Validation, Regulatory, and Manufacturing/Sourcing functions, as well as interfacing with the Engineering and Marketing functions. In this role I managed hundreds of successful product launches. Quality EngineeringI've also held two different positions within Quality Engineering. The first was focused on Test Automation. Within this role I developed/deployed automated test scripts, managed a team in Bangalore which was developing automated test scripts, and supervised a third-party engineering firm in the development of a major custom test fixture (this included hardware, firmware, and PC software). My second role within Quality was focused on Process and Metrics. In this role I was tasked with implementing a common Quality process for all teams at the global level. The work included the definition of a meaningful process, the establishment of proper metrics to quantify the process, the development of custom tools to allow visualization of these metrics at various levels, and the training/mentoring of Quality personnel. Software EngineeringIn total I've spent 14 years working specifically as a Software Engineer. I have experience with using numerous different development platforms to create software for both PC and embedded systems. In my other roles I've regularly created custom tools, so software development is actually something that's been part of my entire career.
