Research assistant for Dr. Zhenyu Li.Sponsored by NIH and NSF grants with a focus on wearable medical devices, flexible electronics technology, molecular diagnostics and microfluidics. Use a variety of mechanical, software, and electronic development platforms to create prototype sensors capable of communicating with a secure, HIPAA compliant cloud network.Dissertation work in molecular diagnostics: Developed a microfluidics-based Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification system for low-cost molecular diagnostic testing. Included microfluidic fabrication, thermal and optical system design, electrical and mechanical simulation and design, C/C++ code development, assay development, wet-lab system testing, algorithm development, and data processing in Python/Matlab.
