About Scott Edwards, Ma(Ed)

With over 25 years' experience in the public sector, Scott brings Programme and Project Management skills to the Wellington Free Ambulance service. His role is to help this important organisation, the only free ambulance service in New Zealand, to harness fully digital radio and cellular technologies for a rather 'geographically challenged' country!Scott was previously the Digital Division Delivery Lead for the collaborated Surrey Police and Sussex Police services, responsible for ensuring that digital transformation, which enables the workforce to be agile and effective, is delivered on time, to budget, and realises the benefits described. Reporting into ACPO level leadership as part of the Senior Leadership Team, Scott played a core role in evaluating proposals to initiate change activity, identifying where these fit within the digital transformation roadmap, and then leading the project and programme management activities.Alongside the on-going development of the Forces' mobile platform and core policing application (Motorola Pronto), Scott has led two significant transformational pieces: the introduction of the collaborated Forces new cloud-based Body Worn Video platform, and the Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS). Following sound project methodologies, Scott ensured that stakeholder engagement was in place, risks and issues were managed, budget tracked, highlight reporting completed, and benefits identified and delivered. Working closely with suppliers, the resulting products have been described as "...the best piece of [equipment] we've ever been given."Scott has also led implementations of significant learning programmes to Force, covering wide and varied portfolios (inc. First Aid, Personal Safety, Control Rooms, Driving School, Learning Design, and Technical). Scott has delivered the strategies for the implementation of two Learning Management Systems (NCALT and a Moodle platform) and the introduction of the Force(s) first on-line video learning site (which he subsequently delivered on mobile devices).Passionate about equality, Scott's teams have led the various force-wide training packages in this area, his team receiving praise from Chief Officers and those who participated.Scott is a trained interviewer, Force mentor and has been rated 'above national & Force average' from the College of Policing 360 scheme.
