As a IP Litigator and Registered U.S. Patent Attorney, I have represented clients in federal courts throughout the United States in a wide variety of intellectual property matters. I am also an adjunct professor teaching trademark litigation at the Washington University School of Law. Helping to protect organizations from unfair competition, I counsel clients regarding licensing agreements, trademark dilution and trade secret misappropriation. In addition, I defend companies against patent infringement allegations brought by license acquisition companies (patent trolls).My representative accomplishments include:(1) Successfully defended clients against allegations of patent and trademark infringement and trade secret misappropriation over bowl-shaped tortilla chips, and obtained a complete defense jury verdict in the Eastern District of Texas.(2) Successfully defending my client against Lanham Act unfair competition claims and obtaining a jury verdict invalidating U.S. Patent No. 5,910,514.(3) Obtaining a $2.4 million jury verdict for my client on claims of service mark infringement, breach of contract, Lanham Act unfair competition, and Missouri unfair competition; successfully arguing to affirm the judgment on appeal.(4) Successfully defending my client against allegations of patent infringement and obtaining attorney fee award against one of the nation's largest license acquisition companies (patent troll).Specialties: Litigation of IP, Infringement of patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade dress.
